Conservation and Restoration of Works on Paper and Photographs

The collection of the „Kupferstichkabinett Basel“ (Department of prints and drawings) counts approximately 200,000 prints as well as 60,000 drawings, watercolors, gouaches and pastels dating from the 15th to 21st century. The Kunstmuseum Basel and Emanuel-Hoffmann Foundation collections furthermore incorporate several hundred photographs of the 20th and 21st century. For the conservation and care of these ever growing collections, the „Kupferstichkabinett“ has a state-of-the-art conservation studio with two full-time conservators on staff.
